Keeping to the right side of the fairway is the paramount requirement off the tee. Those successful will find themselves in the fat of the fairway but not yet in sight of the green. In favourable conditions the green can be reached in two, but more usually a fiendish third shot to a green sloping away from the golfer has to be negotiated if a birdie chance is to result.
